How to Remove the LinkedIn Content Credentials (CR) Badge

LinkedIn can show a Content Credentials badge when an image carries a C2PA manifest. Learn what triggers the CR badge and how to strip that metadata before you post.

What the CR badge is

On LinkedIn, a Content Credentials (CR) marker can appear when the uploaded image includes a C2PA manifest. Viewers may open details about the tool, edit history, or AI involvement recorded in that file.

Unlike a caption, this disclosure is driven by what is embedded in the image container. Professionals often hit it after Photoshop Generative Fill, Firefly, ChatGPT image export, or Microsoft Designer workflows. Deep dive: C2PA remover.

How to post without the badge (metadata path)

If your goal is to avoid a metadata-driven CR badge, strip removable Content Credentials before upload.

  • Export a PNG, JPEG, or WebP from your design or AI tool.
  • Run the file through Unmade AI in your browser (nothing is uploaded to our servers).
  • Download the cleaned copy and upload that version to LinkedIn.

Already posted?

LinkedIn evaluates the file at upload time. To change what appears, delete the post, clean the original export, and repost the cleaned file. Editing text on the live post will not remove an embedded C2PA manifest from the image LinkedIn already stored.

When you may want to keep credentials

If the work is materially AI-generated and you want transparent disclosure for clients or compliance workflows, leaving Content Credentials in place can be the right choice. Unmade AI is for creators who need a clean deliverable or privacy over machine-readable provenance on files they control.
